Labourers Together With God 2

We have been created for God*s pleasure. When Adam and Eve sinned they stopped pleasing God. We who are their descendants do not please Him either. Those of us who have received Jesus have become new creatures who can again please Him. He has a plan for each of us who have received Jesus to do good works for the rest of our lives and on into eternity. The good works are very specific parts of His plan. Our working with Him is also part of the plan. If you are not aware God*s wonderful plan being fulfilled in you and in your life, I feel sorry for you. Perhaps you are not saved or perhaps you need to make a deeper commitment to Him and His plan. There will be no sense of fulfillment and no satisfaction for you until you are working with Him, when we are like Christ in that sense.

Revelation 4:11: Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

2 Corinthians 5:17: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Ephesians 2:10: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

1 Corinthians 3:9: For we are labourers together with God: ye are God*s husbandry, ye are God*s building.

Psalms 17:15: As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.

Psalms 65:4: Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.

This devotional entitled To Us And Through Us was written by Evangelist Wil Rice:

2 Corinthians 7:6 Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus.

2 Corinthians 7:5-6 are some of my favorite verses in the New Testament. When we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side . . . . Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus. When Paul was cast down, troubled externally and internally, who gave him comfort? Was it God or Titus? The answer is, Yes! Every good gift comes from above, but more often than not, God gives those good gifts through other people.

When you ask God to comfort somebody else or provide for somebody else, He is not limited as to the means He will use. A limitless God more often than not uses people! The good work of God through people has a domino effect. That is, it goes from one person to the next, and it multiplies and gains momentum as it goes. Paul was comforted by Titus, who was comforted and refreshed by others (verse 13). That is how God intends for it to work!

God comforts us in order that we can comfort other people (see 2 Corinthians 1:3-6). When we comfort other people, or God uses us to minister to people in some other way, we can be assured that it will boomerang right back to us. Why does God minister to us like He does? He ministers to us so that He can minister through us in the lives of others.
